PROCEDURES AND OTHER RELATED INFORMATION FOR APPLYING TO TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF MARINE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (Graduate School (Doctor and Master course) of Mercantile Marine Science)
1. You should first of all learn Japanese and have a fairly good command of the language because the medium of instruction here is Japanese, and you need to take the entrance examination of Japanese language. You should at least one year (preferably more ) on the intensive study of Japanese before you apply. For more information about a language school, dormitory and so on, we refer you to Nihon Gakusei Shien Kiko (Japan Student Services Organization). 2. After having studied Japanese, you should take the entrance examination. Selection is based on: 1)Written Examination 2)Oral Examination 3)Health Examination 3. Scholarships except Japanese government scholarships are also available for foreign students in Japan, but both the number and amount of such scholarships are limited. Further information may be obtained from the office in charge, after enrolling in the University. 4. The graduate course admits those who have completed 16 years of school education. 5.
